i think a good number of folks prolly picked up their bike as either a demo or second hand (thus the lower sticker price). i don't think i'd pick up a brand new bike (unless i just couldn't pick it up used). i found mine out on cycletrader here local (still paid a few hundred more than i should have but you live you learn).
